With a track record of 25 years in operational excellence and change management, Marie brings a wealth of expertise to her clients.She worked at management level in industry for a number of years, before moving to a consultancy role with a private firm in 1992. In 2000, she set up her own consultancy company, Astrum Consulting. She is a skilled project manager, negotiator and communicator, with considerable experience in leading change management programmes. Marie works primarily with the service industry, in the public, not for profit, private and hospitality sectors. Current and former clients include An Post, Golden Pages, Friends First, VHI, Naturgy, Dublin and Kildare Fire Services, Ireland Active, Life Credit Union, Irish National Stud, Bannon Commercial, Euro Car Parks and Tazbell.
She has been a professional auditor with EIQA for Q Mark for over 25 years and is a Certified EFQM Excellence Assessor, Trainer and Advisor with Quality Blue. Marie specialises in helping companies improve and add value to their business model. This can range from simple process analysis and mapping to a full operational review with in depth redesign and structuring of the organisation.
She helps organisations understand their strengths, key areas of risk, and opportunities for growth development and improvement. She also provides certification support for system standards such as ISO 9001 (Quality Management) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management).
Marie expertise in operational excellence has led to work with some national agencies to help establish development programmes for their sector. She worked with Fáilte Ireland, to develop the Optimus Operational Excellence programme for the hospitality sector. She has also worked with ComReg and Ireland Active on the development of specific standards for performance improvement.
Marie is active in the community and voluntary sector. She was a non-executive director of Life Credit Union from 2008 – 2010, and a member of the sub-committee responsible for Member Services. She has worked with KARE, the Rehab Group, Enable Ireland and MS Ireland on best practice change management programmes.
She has a huge interest in animal welfare, nature and wildlife, with a life-long love affair with horses, dogs and cats. She is a keen hiker and an avid book reader. She lives in Kildare with her husband Hugh and their two children.

Dr Hugh Henry
B.Sc. Hons, Ph.D., Grad. Dip. Business & Finance
Hugh is a recognised expert in Innovation strategy development and Environmental Control issues. As part of our team, he assists companies/organisations to develop and pursue a formalised innovation Strategy agenda often involving change management, business/strategy transformation, staff behavioural alterations, ideas sourcing, IP protection and other general management issues associated with this journey. It is a topic which he is passionate about and one which he has gained a great deal of experience in over the years. He also helps our clients address all issues relating to environmental controls in businesses including air and water pollution control, waste management, sustainability management, energy conservation, planning/licensing lodgements and appeals.
Dr Henry is a former Irish ‘expert’ representative of a European Working Group on the development of a harmonised standard for the small-scale Wastewater Treatment system sector and an active member of the Irish wastewater competence centre established by leading industries in the sector with the assistance of Enterprise Ireland. He was also a member of the NSAI mirror group advising on the development of European and international innovation management standards. He is a previous member of the Irish industry and business innovation management group at IBEC (Irish Business and Employers Confederation) and an IRDG (Industry Research and Development Group) board member, plus he has lectured widely and key note spoke at many conferences on this topic (innovation strategy in business). Finally, Dr Finally, Dr Henry is a published author on innovation strategy development and management in business. His practical book, Everyday Innovation, is published by Oaktree Press and is available on Amazon.
